“Come swim in the Baltic!” they said, “It will be fun!” they said …. (and it was)

Last Saturday (Jan. 25th) 17 study abroads set of for a sauna on the Baltic with Edvardas, one of our fearless interns. We took a ferry across the harbor and then hiked a short ways through woods to get to the sea. When we arrived at the sea, we were freezing but awestruck by the beauty of the Baltic.

After seeing all that beauty, we came to the sauna.

After changing out of our winter wear, in we went, all 17 of us into the tiny sauna. Temperatures sky-rocked to over 150 degrees. After about 10 minutes of time warming up, we’d step out and see how long it took to get cold again. After repeating this two-step process several times…

IT WAS TIME. TIME TO SWIM IN THE BALTIC. AND WE DID. AND IT WAS GLORIOUS.

Stick around. More pictures and a video of our sprint into the sea will be coming soon!
