Word of the Week – Keliautojas

Labas!

My name is Jordan, and I am one of the study abroad interns for this semester! I come from San Francisco, California and am a third-year Psychology major/Economics & Business minor at Westmont College. I will be posting updates about the fabulous study abroad program here in Lithuania a few times a week!

This week, I would like to teach all of you the word “keliautojas”, which is the Lithuanian word for “traveler”. As a traveler in a foreign country, it is important that I try to learn the language, even if I am only able to learn a few words. When I first arrived in Klaipéda, I attended a crash course in the Lithuanian language, which had been setup by the study abroad team. Phrases such as “Where are the toilets?” and “I don’t speak Lithuanian” have been incredibly useful during my time here so far.
